Its Purpose:
To promote the welfare of children and youth
Its Role:
To info rm, advise, guide, instruct, and encourage the leaders of local units, and to be responsive to their needs for conference, leadership training, and coordination of efforts of the member PTAs
Its Goals for 2003-2006 :
- Strengthen local units by providing direction, encouragement, and leadership training.
- evelop leaders for continued PTA service.
- erve the community by promoting and assisting the organization of PTA where there are none. Being a source of info rmation and serving as liaison among local units, state and national PTA, the school administration and other cooperative agencies, and by uniting the planning efforts to address community-side issues.
- dvocate for all children in the community by providing opportunities where community and school leaders can address issues and solve child-related, community-wide concerns; schools of info rmation and study discussions.
These 4 goals are based on the council objectives as outlined by the NC PTA. As the executive board continues it's work this year, we will be evaluating and implementing our programs and role within the school community through these.
Its Role:
Along with the Council’s goals for the upcoming year, the Executive Board has agreed on the following focus areas:
- Service to units
- Effective parent involvement
- Organizational effectiveness
